Youth Basketball of America (YBOA), a premier youth membership organization in the sport of basketball, has now partnered with National Sports ID to provide accurate age/grade verification to all its athletes. This organization whose mission is to provide an avenue for personal growth and development while also reinforcing positive influences, building self-confidence, improving self-esteem and equipping young athletes with the ability to excel in and out of the court, has gone a step further in protecting their integrity by partnering with National Sports ID whose verification system will help curb improper grading, age tampering and further promote fair play among young athletes.
Since its inception, the youth basketball of America has been dedicated to educating and motivating its members by encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship through the spirit of basketball, their partnership with National Sports ID goes to show their commitment to making sure young athletes are eligible and compete fairly in all tournaments organized by YBOA. The age verification system developed by National Sports ID will help authenticate the age/grade of athletes, using their birth certificate or state issued ID alongside their report cards which must include the player’s name, school name, current grade, current school year and passport photograph.
The good thing about getting verified by National Sports ID is that athletes only have to upload these documents once after verification is complete the documents are erased from the servers (this is to make sure the privacy of athletes are secured). It is also easy and convenient and can be done at home or at work using a laptop or a mobile phone to upload the necessary documents to the NSID website, this method eliminates the need to wait in long queues or go through stacks of documents. Coaches and organizers also benefit from this partnership which now gives them easy access to the player’s information via a secured online portal and also makes it easier for them to draft roasters with complete information.
All the necessary information required to register for National Sports ID can be found on the YBOA website as well as the National Sports ID website. Parents and coaches should ensure they obtain National Sports ID for their children/athletes so that they can be eligible to compete in tournaments organized by the youth basketball of America. “In 2019 all teams will need to check in online prior to the tournament using the National Sports ID Online Check-In Portal” YBOA stated in a post. They emphasized that all players must meet the grade-level or age-exception criteria in other to be verified and encouraged intending athletes/competitors to take advantage of this verification system to create an official sports photo ID which will allow them to participate in various tournaments.
