In fact, this state of mind is due to an uneasy psychological issue, resulting from mental stress. Every athlete desires to be prominent and eye-catching when taking part in a big game. To get through a crucial game, young athletes take the pressure. It is important to train them to control their nerves before any big event. For a confident performance during a big game, athletes need to be calm. In this regard, the following 10 ways are significant to avoid nervousness while participating in a big game.

The main reason as to why kids are playing the sport should be more than winning or losing a game. For this purpose, kids are to be taught about the essence of the game. 2. One Play at a Time:

We must tell our kids that they need to concentrate on “one play at a time”. Taking one play at a time does not mean that you do not learn from your mistakes, or that you never celebrate your success. Instead, it suggests not letting those mistakes and successes define you. Thus, we should encourage athletes to move forward rather than living in the past.

4. Get Rid of Negative Self-Talk:

The brain can prove to be remarkable if you use it appropriately. Those who have no control over their thoughts would start thinking negatively killing thereby confidence level. Therefore, young athletes should be encouraged to believe that they can do it. 

5. Practice Visualization: 

Practicing visualization is extremely useful in banishing annoying nerves. This is an effective way to avoid nervousness. Young athletes by this practice of visualization their game plan with positive thoughts can improve their confidence.

6. Take Deep Breaths: 

To keep nerves calm and under control, deep breathing is a useful technique. Instead of quick breathing, slow and long breathing helps you maintain calmness. Young athletes should be encouraged to take deep breaths before a big game.

7. Listen Music:

Listening to music reduces stress considerably. Before a big game, always encourage young athletes to have fun music.

8. Motivational Videos and Quotes:

It is quite easy to find motivational videos and quotes on the internet. These motivational videos and quotes increase the confidence of athletes. They need to be encouraged to watch these things to avoid nervousness.

9. Try a Distraction: 

Young athletes need to try a distraction while feeling nervous before a big game. Encourage them to do a different thing rather than thinking of a game. They should read any interesting book.

10. Create a Ritual: 

Uncertainty is a big factor affecting pre-game nerves. To avoid Uncertainty it is better for young athletes to keep creating a game-day routine.
